Work-in-process visning av Chiron in Aries: recital #1 av koreografen Frédéric Gies med dansaren Julia Plawgo. Under visningen visas ett första solo som sedan kommer att vara del av ett större verk. Det större verket har premiär på Inkonst i Malmö under 2020.

Chiron in Aries: recital #1 uses the format of a recital as a template. A recital is usually a performance of music or poetry, a concert given by a soloist, musician or dancer, or by a small group of people, featuring short compositions or pieces. The piece also takes the significance of the centaur Chiron in Greek mythology and the minor planet Chiron in astrology as a guideline. 

In astrology, the minor planet Chiron, named after the centaur, is the “wounded healer” and represents our deepest wounds and our capacity to heal and heal others.

The dances, through the precision of the composition and dance vocabulary, make visible and tangible the inner worlds of the dancers, as if they would give us access to the depth and complexity of their interiority. Frédéric Gies
